Home landscaping can play an enormous role in a person's Hauora (their mental and emotional, social, spiritual and physical wellbeing). Without a lush lawn or grass area, native trees and plants, and an outdoor area for kids to play and adults to socialize in, life can become mundane and lacklustre.
Kainga Ora provides rental housing for New Zealanders in need. Kainga Ora means wellbeing through places and communities, and that is exactly what we have assisted with. We were brought on board by Penny Homes and Mike Greer in early 2020 to help create a space for families and individuals to enjoy and be proud of.
We have built fences and retaining walls to provide privacy for the tenants, constructed and installed gates to provide sanctuary from one-another, excavated the properties and provided soil to build the ground levels up and prepared the ground for planting installation. In consultation with Kainga Ora we selected suitable plantings that would not only be maintenance friendly but also useful (edibles) and visually appealing.
We are lucky enough to have a strong team leader, Gene, running these Rotorua sites and with him he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in fencing and hard landscapes. He has ensured all of the construction for this project has been completed to the highest quality and ensured all of our guys on site have had adequate training and supervision to get the job done while also learning new skills to help them progress further within their own lives. While Gene has been onsite, Vanessa, our Sales and Marketing Manager has been working endlessly behind the scenes to make sure the whole project runs smoothly and as planned.
It has been a pleasure to work on a project of this scale that provides back to the local community.
