Easy Lawn TurfMaster Series Our HPV slurry pumps were engineered to develop higher pressures specifically for hydroseeding appilcations. Pump pressure (psi), not flow (gpm), is the most important spec on any hydroseeding pump. It is the pressure that breaks up the mulch in the tank and allows you to mix thicker slurries.

Even though it is harder to pump out thicker mixtures, and our TurfMaster units are capable of mixing 50% thicker slurries than the competitions units, we can still pump out nearly all of the tank's contents. This is possible because the tanks in our TurfMaster units are mounted in their cradle at a slight angle and have a 4" deep sump to allow for better draining. This insures maximum coverage per tank and minimum waste. |

The "off the shelf" ag tanks they use don't have a provision for a single 4" suction like our custom tanks do, so they have to use dual sumps on their units with 4" x 4" pumps in order to provide enough flow. The problem with dual sumps is that on uneven ground, the uphill inlet will suck air causing the pump to loose prime and then you can't drain the tank all the way down. |

The tanks used in the Turf Master units are custom made to our specs. They are made of polyethylene so they won't corrode. Our tanks are cylindrical, so they mix better than an oval tank. A major feature of our custom tanks is the molded in polyethylene bale hopper. It completely encircles the 16” fillwell to speed loading and eliminate loss of mulch, seed, and fertilizer.
Our renowned agitation system utilizes a 3” primary agitation tube with two or more 3/4” jets depending on the model. The large 3” agitation tube maintains maximum flow to the agitation system, while the 3/4” jets provide an incredible amount of agitation energy. This enables you to mix much thicker mixtures of either wood or paper fiber mulch. The increased pressure also keeps the jets free and clear of debris that may cause clogging. Our agitation jets point across the bottom of the tank to insure that no materials can fall out of suspension and lay on the bottom. Even if you shut down the unit for a period of time, the agitation system is capable of re-mixing the tanks contents to a uniform consistency. |

Our competitor's tanks are oval, which impedes the mixing process. A bale hopper is only available as an option. It is made out of steel, so it will rust. It also has sharp edges which make it easy to cut yourself as you are loading the mulch. Their steel bale hopper does not encircle the fillwell opening, so it is hard to load the tank without spilling mulch everywhere.
Our competitor's units utilize a direct jet system with two 1 1/2” jets on cheaper models and two 2” jets on more expensive models. The problem with such a large jet is that you loose too much pressure and agitation energy, so you cannot mix as quickly or as thick a load and cannot mix wood mulch at all. Imagine the difference between putting a running hose into a bucket of water versus putting your finger over the end of the hose and then putting it in the bucket. With your finger over the end, flow is reduced but pressure is increased and there is more mixing energy in the bucket.
Inside the tank, our competitor's jets are pointed up, parallel to the outside surface of the tank. This gives the impression of an intense rolling action on top of the tank, but actually leaves a large dead spot on the bottom of the tank where seed and fertilizer can fall out of suspension. |
